About Animals at Home PTY Ltd (Cairns).
Hello, I'm Jen and I run Animals at Home PTY Ltd (Cairns)
with my partner Paul.
I grew up on the Isle of Wight in England and became a veterinary nurse in 2001. I qualified and registered in 2003 and worked for 9 years in a veterinary hospital providing 24 hr nursing.
I first met Denis when he moved to the Island and began Animals at Home and have helped to train the franchisees. This continued when I began working at another veterinary clinic on the island where I worked for a further 2 years.
Paul is an aircraft electrician and has worked for BAE systems and Britten Norman on the island, mainland and abroad.
It has always been a dream of ours to move to Australia with our two children.
When the opportunity arose we considered it seriously. I have always liked the idea of running an Animals at Home franchise and thought that it would be brilliant to bring the company to Australia. Paul liked the idea, especially as it would become a family involved project, and so we did it!
We are offering a premium service for all your pets needs. I have had pets my entire life and worked within the veterinary profession for 10 years.
I intend to offer veterinary nursing skills such as post operative checks and suture removals in the home to support and work alongside veterinary practices in the area, as well as the many other Animals at Home services.
I think it's a great idea to offer people an alternative to kennels and catteries when they want to go on holiday, especially if they have an elderly or unwell pet as it gives them a less stressful and more professional option.
I love my career as a veterinary nurse and hope to use use my skills to make Animals at Home PTY Ltd (Cairns) a service everyone would recommend.
